When the whistle blows, you gotta move it. Use the mouse to get your player where to ball will land. After you are in position, hold down the mouse button and aim the arrow towards the circular target. When trying out for Varsity, you can also control the power of your hit by releasing the mouse button when the power meter reaches the right amount oomph
